Iran Claims Supertanker Hit Naval Mines In Strait Of Hormuz, Warns Ships Against Using Unauthorised Routes

Iran's IRGC Navy claimed a crude oil supertanker exploded after striking naval mines while using an unauthorised route through the Strait of Hormuz. It also reported striking an LPG carrier, NV Sunshine, in a separate incident. Tehran warned vessels against violating maritime restrictions, while President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's willingness to continue negotiations with Washington.
